The family and friends of Simon Leonard Ganet are mourning the heartbreaking loss of a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who passed away on May 9, 2026, at the age of 36 following a courageous battle with leukemia. Surrounded by the love of those closest to him, Simon faced his illness with remarkable strength, grace, and optimism, leaving behind a legacy defined by compassion, humor, and genuine human connection.
Born in Chicago to Larry and Gale Ganet, Simon grew up in a loving and close-knit family alongside his twin brother Elliot, older brother Max, and younger sister Nina. From an early age, those around him recognized the warmth and kindness that would become the hallmark of his life. He attended Naperville North High School before continuing his studies at Western Illinois University, where he formed lifelong friendships and memories that remained deeply meaningful to him.
Simon’s life took a beautiful turn when he met Anne Hoesly at The Damen Tavern. What began as a chance meeting grew into a deep and enduring love story. The couple married on October 2, 2021, building a life centered on laughter, devotion, and unwavering partnership.
