Joyce Knefley, Coudersport, PA Death Obituary: In Loving Memory Of Joyce Knefley

It is with profound sorrow that the passing of Joyce Knefley is announced, a woman whose quiet strength, compassion, and lifelong dedication left a lasting imprint on both her family and the community she helped shape. Alongside her husband, Mike Knefley Sr., Joyce played a foundational role in purchasing and building Ski Sawmill 25 years ago, helping transform it into a place defined not only by its operations but by its spirit of welcome and connection.

For decades, Joyce contributed faithfully behind the scenes, offering steady support that helped guide the growth and success of Ski Sawmill. While she often chose to remain out of the spotlight, her influence was deeply felt in every aspect of the organization—from daily responsibilities to the warm, family-like atmosphere experienced by employees and visitors alike. Even as her health declined in recent years, she remained closely connected to the people and the community she held dear.

Those who knew Joyce remember her most for her genuine care for others. She placed great value on family, cherishing time spent with her children, grandchildren, employees, and the extended Ski Sawmill family. Her presence was marked by sincerity and kindness, and she often made it a point to encourage and uplift those going through difficult times, offering comfort rooted in her faith and compassion.

Her ability to connect with people left a meaningful and lasting impression. Whether through a thoughtful word, a supportive gesture, or her steady encouragement, Joyce had a way of making others feel seen and valued. That quiet generosity of spirit became one of her most defining qualities.

She is survived by her loving family, including her son, Mike Knefley II, who continues to carry forward the family’s leadership at Ski Sawmill, preserving the legacy she helped establish.

Friends, family, and community members are invited to honor and celebrate Joyce’s life at Coudersport Alliance Church on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, followed by a service at 4:00 PM and a community dinner at 5:00 PM. These gatherings offer an opportunity not only to mourn her passing but also to reflect on the many ways she touched lives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stronghold Ministry at www.mystronghold.org, supporting spiritual care for cancer patients and continuing Joyce’s spirit of compassion and service.

As the Knefley family navigates this difficult time, they are surrounded by thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt support from all who were impacted by Joyce’s life. Though she is no longer physically present, her legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication continues to live on in the community she helped build and the countless lives she touched.
