Riley, Motorcycle Crash, Chattanooga High Way, Death Obituary: Family Mourns

The Chattanooga community is mourning the tragic death of 19-year-old Riley, who was killed Tuesday afternoon in a motorcycle crash along Highway 153.

According to the Chattanooga Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 2:40 p.m. in the 5700 block of Highway 153 southbound. The collision temporarily shut down the southbound lanes as emergency crews worked at the scene and investigators gathered evidence.

Preliminary findings indicate that an SUV was attempting to turn across the southbound lanes into a parking lot when the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the vehicle. Authorities said the SUV then continued forward and struck a parked vehicle following the impact.

Police confirmed that Riley, the 19-year-old motorcyclist, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in connection with the crash.

The sudden loss of such a young life has left many in the community heartbroken, as family members, friends, and loved ones grapple with unimaginable grief. Fatal motorcycle accidents often unfold in mere seconds, yet their emotional impact can last forever for those left behind.

Following the collision, traffic along Highway 153 southbound was temporarily disrupted while investigators processed the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
